| Minor apnea with slight retro-displacement of the tongue base may
respond to MRD throat opening devices.
If we find mild apnea (RDI<15-20) as well as video flexible
laryngoscopy detailing anterior collapse and good motion with jaw
protrusion, we may suggest the MRD.
Several local dentists work with us to provide this appliance. After
evaluation, a temporary fitting will be done. then, a more permanent
device is prescribed.
MRD's may be used for lengthy periods of time and may be used with a
CPAP. |
