Obstruction at the Palate
|
Snoring originates from disturbed
airflow originating in the nose and palate. This blockage to
airway flow can be diagnosed with the use of rhinomanometry, fiber-optic video
laryngoscopy and lateral cephalometric x-rays.
Once the site of obstruction is determined, the Somnoplasty technique can reduce the bulk of the
turbinate and palate tissue.
This treatment usually requires at least two separate visits where
the radio-frequency (RF) energy is delivered to the palate. We wait 6-8 weeks
between treatments to assess the effects on snoring and need for possible further
procedures. Your cost is $2200 to include two separate treatments. We will
endeavor to bill your insurance for office visits and assessments of the
site of obstruction, such as rhinomanometry and naso-laryngoscopy.
If more than two palatal treatments are necessary to
reduce snoring, through agreement, we will do further Rx at a specific cost
per procedure.
