We take care of Acute and Chronic Sinusitis.
Acute are the obvious colds that turn bad and lead to very well defined pain over one sinus, such as the forehead or cheek.
Chronic, however, usually sneaks up on you after numerous colds and allergy attacks, with symptoms that are less obvious. Congestion, runny nose, pressure but not pain as well as cycling from good to bad are typical.
Evaluation means a good history, exam including office nasal endoscopy looking for polyps and septal deviations, and perhaps trials of sprays such as Flonase, Rhinocort, Nasocort, Nasonex, and Omnaris. If symptoms persists you may need an imaging study such as an CT scan. Some other sprays include Patenase and Astepro may also be recommended. We do NOT recommend antihistamines such as Claritin or Allegra for this conditin, although they are great for pure alleric rhinitis.
Further problems may require an endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) under general anesthesia, perhaps using an advanced technique similar to a GPS, called InstaTrak.
