Feeling Good with wonderful skin!

Good skin care means avoiding sun damage using sunscreens, as well as using a good moisturizer.

Our Glyderm line of skin care products and make-up is non-comedogenic and includes sunscreen, cleanser as well as moisturizer. Alpha-hydroxy acids or AHA is milder on the skin compared to Retin-A.

Kinerase in cream or lotion form also has recently been added to the product line. This greatly improves compliance rather than the harsher Retin-A products.

After facial cosmetic surgery, we recommend Glyderm products to continue the results. Even if no surgery is needed at this time, use of Glyderm products will help preserve the skin moisture and reduce photo-aging.

Skin Medica offers a line of skin products that we like. In addition, they provide a nice lunch-time peel.

Botox injections to wrinkles is practiced in our office. Frown lines in the forehead as well as crows-feet are routine sites of injection.

Collagen injections are used to fill out the superficial wrinkles. Zyplast and Zyderm are trade names of Collagen. A skin test is necessary 4 weeks prior to the injections. A newer version (Cosmoplast)is now available the originates from a human cell line. NO skin test required!

Radiance may be for more permanent uses, especially after use of Zyplast or Cosmoplast has been tried.

Skin Lesions we treat:

Benign
Rhytids (wrinkles) and lentigines (freckles) respond to retinoids (Retin-A), but deep wrinkling may also need injection with collagen or use of chemical peels. Kinerase is wonderful as a Retin-A substitute.

We also remove nevi, moles, warts, tags, as well as suspicious skin lesions that may be basal, squamous or pigmented (melanoma) cancers.

Pre-malignant
Actinic keratosis requires controlled injury to the skin, such as TCA,  5-FU (Efudex) or liquid nitrogen. These treatments will encourage new skin growth. Further treatment may be necessary, such as excision.

Of course, skin protection with adequate SPF sunscreen is mandatory.

Malignant
Lentigo maligna------>Melanoma
Basal cell cancers
Squamous cell cancer
